Ram XMP or not

Daniel_H

Hey i've a question.

I have a Z490 Gaming X AX motherboard with a I7 10th gen. Just noticed that my ram is running at 2133mhz but I have 2 corsair vegeance 3200mhz stickes and 2 3600mhz ones. Does give any usefull benefit enabling xmp and run them at 3200mhz, or is it better to just leave it like it is now.

What are your goals? Would you even care?

MinimumFPS values and LowFPS moments probably take a much worse dive at 2133 vs 3200+ let alone faster if you had proper matching pairs..

Don't think its a nothingburger.

You are leaving FPS on the table where it matters most.

Minimums.

But your at the perils of your choices..

I'd just sell it all off (ram sticks) and buy overall.. better ram suited to the platform strengths.

I'd aim for 3600-4000 ranges personally..

In Warzone, I went from 165fps to 195fps in the CPU limiting CITY locations just from RAM alone.

3200C14 to 4400C17 gave me another 30odd FPS at 1080p lower settings.

But if I was doing it now I'd just buy faster ram and sell the old stuff.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
