I need help with choosing parts for my workstation upgrade.

PollakMc

Hello everyone.

I'm new on this forum and I need help with choosing parts for my PC upgrade.

My current PC is now 5 years old and very unstable, so i want to upgrade it.

My budget is 1100$ USD. I want a new or used CPU, MOBO, RAM, and more storage.

I mostly work in Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Davinci Resolve (4k with effects)
I also game, but it doesn't matter.

My current hardware:
CPU: I5 7600k
MOBO: MSI Z270 Tomahawk
GPU: GTX 1080 armor
RAM: DDR4 16GB 3000MHz
PSU: 600W Be Quiet! Pure Power 11
SSD: 128GB SATA
SSD2: 256GB SATA
HDD: 1TB 7200RPM
CPU Cooler: Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2
Case: Be Quiet! Pure Base 600 Window
OS: Windows 10
Monitor 1: 1440p 60hz
Monitor 2: 1080p 75hz (Turned off most of the time)

1. CPU + MOBO
I have no idea what CPU and Mobo will be the best for that money. (Maybe Ryzen 5900x or i7 12700k?)
Is intel a better choice because of the Quick Sync support in Adobe?
Also, my current PSU must be sufficient for it, and I will probably need a better cooler.
Mobo: At least 6 USB ports, and S/PDIF output.

2. RAM: I think I will go straight for 64GB, because I want to be able to run Adobe Premiere Pro, and AE at once,
with some background programs running (Browser, Music Player). (Perhaps a Fury Beast 64GB 3200MHz?)

Next week I will borrow a second 16GB kit from my friend, and then I will be sure.

3. Storage.
What do You think about this?
- NVME SSD 1: I think 512GB for the system, and Adobe Software will be enough.
- NVME/Sata SSD: 512GB for video and cache.
- 3/5 Tb HHD for Archive.
- My current 256GB drive for aplications or cache.

What do You think I can buy in this budget? CPU, Mobo and RAM can be from secound hand.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.
