CPU stuck to aio cooler?

Welp.

Its less than a month old paste but I'm changing to a 5900x.. But it's really stuck there

Twist it in a circle, that will free it.

Try to not touch the pins.

With AMD CPUs, this is a problem and will be corrected when they finally switch to LGA. But when removing the cooler, you should always twist to loosen the bond otherwise this does happen, quiet often and has been known sometimes to cause damage to the pins when people aren't careful. Best here would be to take the CPU and twist it side to side until you feel it break its "seal" bond with the cold plate and remove it.

Dental floss works really well. You can get it between the cpu and the cooler.

I have done this too and bent my pins I spend the next hour straightening them with a credit card lol cpu still works!

Bent them back.. Was real careful and their all now where they should be.

 

Only problem now Is I've somehow got paste between 5 pins and 4 pins..

 

 

Now to u install my motherboard and pray the fasteners aren't broken.

High risk high reward: smack it once in an angle with an hammer ;))))) (NOT RECOMMENDED), Happened to me with an 2500k just took my time and removed it slowly with some wire, took 30m of moving side to side but worked. (better than the hammer option, although the hammer would take much quicker)

Edit: if you bent pins once don't do it again, they might be already much more fragile than they are usually are (Metal fatigue?), I would actually spend a 30minutes to 2 hours to not break a pin.

i feel you, similiar thing happened to my poor fx once.. i bent 1 pin trying to remove it from the thermal pad and it still worked for like a year, i to this day dont understand how.

What I forgot was that pin you unbend from the Socket.. I'm an idiot.

Even tho I'm setting this 5900x in now.. I was almost shaking placing it in the Socket haha
