Which monitor to choose LG UltraGear 34GP83A-B or LG UltraGear 34GP950G-B

I am on the edge with these two monitors and do nit know which to buy, the 34GP950G-B is on sale right now for 1200 which is 100 more than the other but I’ve seen that the local dimming is bad so I do not know which to choose.

If you have an Nvidia graphics card I'd go with the 950G since it has an actual G-sync module. it's also HDR600 vs. 400 of the other one, and HDR400 is a joke really. 600 isn't great either, but that plus g-sync makes it the better buy in my mind.

Because you mention 950G only costing $100 more you should go for it. 180hz over 160hz, native G-Sync support, HDR600 vs 400.
