Your PCPP list has the micro-ATX version of the Gigabyte board FYI. The regular ATX appears to go for around $200 more or less.

Have a look here if you haven't yet.

The B550 Gaming X is Tier C, which is plenty for the 5600x (albeit lower in the tier than other options, but overkill for the 5600x so doesn't really matter).

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

On the AMD motherboard VRM tier list the Aorus Pro (full ATX not mATX) is under tier S-, while the Gaming X is tier C, so the Aorus should be better. (i.e. support more powerful CPU's). Both should be plenty for a 5600X though.

The Aorus has more SATA ports, more PCI-e x16 slots, and supports higher RAM speed theoretically. Also has more USB ports, USB-C port, etc. so it is the better featured board as well.

O yea it’s not the ATX, it’s the mATX for the Aorus pro, I don’t know why pcpp puts it like that.

Most people aren't cross-shopping ATX and mATX boards, so I thought it might be a mistake.

Do you know what features you need/want in a board?

The Gigabyte board is OK, but there's a bit better choices for a few more dollars. You can save dollars in other places.

For example, maybe see Asrock B550M Steel Legend - perfectly fine board for a 5600x even though it doesn't have BIOS Flashback .... you won't need it because 5600x is supported since bios P1.20 released in 08/2020 so new boards will pretty much come with a more recent bios.

The board's 110$ and for that you get 6 sata ports instead of 4 (not all will work if you use m.2 drives), you get more usb ports on the io shield, you get 2.5g ethernet, you get better pci-e layout (your video card won't block the 2nd pci-e x16 slot so you could actually install something there and not block video card or video card fans.

Here's the pp link : https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nFhmP6/asrock-b550m-steel-legend-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b550m-steel-legend

I am using a Strix B550-F. I bought it last November, and is my first AM4 board. I own a 5600X and a 5900X and those CPU's rip. This board handles them no problem. You can easily max out both CPU's. It handles memory, specifically B-Die very well. I have pushed my 3200C14 to 4200C14, 4400C15 with my 5600X.. this board is great for what I do. I can only recommend hardware that I have used because that's how I roll. My 5600X is stable at 2000 1:1, and can bench at 2100 1:1, and my 5900X is only stable at 1900.. booo. Its a good board, me like. Should have got the wifi version, but black Friday..

Good luck with your decision!

Well for the meantime I would like to get a 100 dollar one, but I am planning on upgrading to a better one on the future, so for 100 which should I get?

That question makes me really feel like a snob.. because I wouldn't buy a hundred dollar board. I feel bad for saying that and I am sorry 🙂

The B550M Aorus Pro (matx) or the B550 Gaming X (atx) should both be equivalent in terms of power delivery. So both should be fine. You could also look at Asrock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac (ATX).

Any of these boards will be totally fine, cannot go wrong really. You case can fit ATX or mATX, so both works. Neither Gigabyte board has Wifi, the Asrock one I mentioned does have Wifi. That is about the biggest difference between them. The full ATX boards have more PCI-e x1 expansion slots if that is useful to you (probably not). Compare some of the other features like how many USB ports on the back.

You cannot go wrong, also look at which board you like the look of best perhaps. Good luck!
