Can lift off distance be changed for logitech mice?

I have a logitech Anywhere MX (1st gen) that I plan on attempting to replace the switches on because I'm getting some double click issues. However this mouse has another annoying issue which is a huge lift off distance. I like picking the mouse up to re-position it often and for some reason the cursor still "jitters" on the screen with the mouse lifted half an inch from the pad! I've never had such a large lift off distance on any other mice before. Is this something that can be adjusted in software or with a utility? I don't see anything in software.
