Better chip, better battery life (marginally), and another year of software support over the previous if you plan on keeping it for a bit, thats goign to be great

I had an 11 Pro with 256GB and all I did was fill it up with crap. Gone back to 128GB now

That depends on you. The iPhone 12 is already a pretty damn good phone, all things considered. The iPhone 13 makes small but meaningful improvements in key metrics, such as a brighter display, improved camera system (notably the main camera that was taken from the iPhone 12 Pro Max), bigger battery and smaller notch (it actually makes a bigger difference than it appears).

 

For $50, you can very easily justify the jump to the iPhone 13 over the iPhone 12 for the battery alone, with the rest being an added bonus.

IMHO, not really. 128GB is a lot of storage even by 2021 standards for more "basic" levels of use. 256GB is obviously recommended if you plan to store a lot of games/media or shoot plenty of video.

 

My usual cardinal rule for buying Apple products has always been to buy the storage SKU that's a step above the baseline, but that's really mostly true for their products with asinine base storage configs (like 16GB vs. 64GB, or 32GB vs. 128GB).

 

Unless you know for sure that you will be storing a lot of stuff locally, or you're buying a 13 Pro and know you'll be shooting 4K ProRes, 128GB is plenty. Although if you can afford the jump to 256GB, there's really nothing stopping you.

From an 12 Mini, a relative needed a new phone and so they got my old 12 Mini and I got the 13, the difference in screen size is amazing, I got the 12 Mini because I wanted something that was small in my pocket and it seemed nice after playing around with it at the store for a few minutes, but after spending some time with the 13, wow! the difference in screen size is night and day (5.4" vs 6.1"), now I'm thinking of maybe try a Max next time for an even bigger screen (IMHO-YMMV if you watch movies, play games or even browse, never even think about the Mini, the difference in your experience is that much), other wise the general phone experience doesn't feel too different(only a tick gen, not a tock gen), I'am excited to see if the battery life has that much of an improvement.
