DDWRT issues

Hello, I’m having problems as well with dd-wrt,

 

I have turned my virgin media hub into a modem and connected my WRT3200ACM to use as a router for WiFi/lan etc, I have done everything to make it work as it should and want to install dd-wrt, so I can use ipvanish with it 

 

I have followed all links provided by linksys and downloaded the relevant file to update the firmware but when doing this I get no internet afterwards, 

 

What am I doing wrong?

Almost all third-party firmware installations have a specific set of instructions for the router flash.

 

IIRC, for DD-WRT, you should reset to defaults, flash the initial/base firmware, reset to defaults, flash the final firmware, then reset to defaults. Customize as you want thereafter. Did you do this?

 

Out of curiosity, why not use OpenWRT?

Depends on chipset. Some you have to do a 30-30-30 reset in order to do the process, others you just need to do a simple reset.

DD-WRT is easier to use for beginners.  I started with DD-WRT, moved to OpenWRT and then went all out with pfSense.  Still using OpenWRT for Access Points.
