Which racing wheel to buy, mid range wheel?

Faris14

So I am looking into buying a racing wheel because that is my favourite genre. I am a total noob when it comes to them and need advice. Right now I have a couple of options:

1. Used g920 with shifter for 300 USD;

2.Just geting a new 920 for 300 USD and buying a shifter later:

3.Thrustmaster TMX pro new for 340 USD without shifter

4.Thrustmaster t150rs pro for 340 USD

5.g29 for 350 USD new without shifter.

350 USD is the maximum I want to spend for a racing wheel, the shifter I would buy later on for any of these. If you guys have any other suggestions than these I am open to them or if you can tell me which would be the best otpion there realy is not a used market in my country for this.

Thank you all in advance.

I have good experience with Thrustmaster wheels, very good build quality. although I have heard that the Logitech wheels are not that good and they broke after a while. I have had the Thrustmaster T150 for 2 years now and back then I bought it used from a friend that has already used it for a couple of years lol

My 2 cents.

I have a Logitech G25, and it still works beautifully.

Do you really need the shifter, or can you go with the paddle shifters for now?

If the Used G920 + Shifter is in good condition, nothing's loose / broken, then that's not a bad option at $300 USD.

Other option is New G920 without Shifter for $300 USD.

IMO no point getting the G29 without shifter for $350 USD.

Same goes for the New ThrustMasters for $340 USD.

Out of curiosity where are these prices coming from? Are you stuck with a specific vendor? The G920 with a shifter is ~$300 new. Every now and then slightly less if you catch it on sale.  I don't see the bundle in stock right now on Amazon, but the G920 is currently $250, the shifter is $54.

I'm personally using the G920. I ended up also investing in a stand as well pretty quickly.

The first wheel I had was a gravis joystick hooked up in between a wheel off a 64 Pontiac  and a pully made out of a jam jar lid, I had analog steering but digital petals made out of plywood, cheap hinges and a couple buttons off an old joystick. I used it to drive the original Indy 500,that eventually  morphed into iracing. That was in 1990, and we built our own wheels until the first Logitech wheels were brought to market in the mid 90s. Up until a year ago I was still using my last Logitech ,the g29. I was getting tired of all the clicking and grinding that is inherent to the gear driven system they kept under the hood since the g27 so I bought a Thrustmaster T300 and an adapter so I could use my Logitech petals. All I can say is I cant believe I waited so long.

The market for these in my country is pretty small. There are only a few stores that sell them and they never go on discount or anything and most wheels are to order like I would have to wait 15 days for them to arrive. The used market is even worse everyone is selling their wheels for like less then 50 usd off store price if there is even anybody selling it.

Every store that is going to have a wheel or somebody selling it in my country is pretty much on here.

The shifter is not a deal breaker to be honest I can go without it. I just want a good wheel do not want to make a hasty decision.Oh and I did the conversion wrong for the thrustmaster wheels they are both 315 USD.
