RX 6900 XT or RTX 3080 ti

What is the best for gaming?

 

CPU: amd 5900x 

motherboard: Dark Hero

 

What is the best 

 

ASUS ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT Or ASUS TUF RTX 3080Ti 12G GAMING LHR ?

What games do you play, what resolution, etc.? The 6900XT is better in pure rasterization benchmarks, but if you're doing anything else the 3080Ti is the faster card.

If you cant find a non-LHR card for the 3080 ti.. I would rather go for the 6900 XT.

(And i own a 3080 ti card lol )

It may depend on the game and the resolution you play at.

 

I have 3080 tis for gaming because in the past all my gaming GPUs end up doing productivity so I need CUDA.  

I also like raytracing even though it is not a deal breaker for me. 

 

As for game benches I don't see a meaningful difference between the two so the 3080 ti win on features.

There are no non LHR 3080 tis. They came out after LHR.

I buyed my 3080 ti before LHR was a thing so, also its not impossible to find.

edit: Honestly to OP: I would rather go for the 6900XT again, knowing its a liquid cooled one.. Man those cards are awesome! (If its the 240mm one )

I thought it was 3080 ti VS 6900xt

 

The 3090 Tuf is $2230. The Tuf 3080 ti is $1950.

 

I have a MSI Gaming X Trio 3090 and a Gaming X Trio 3080 ti. They produce the same frames but the 3090 was $530 more.

Smaller cooler design than other cards but shouldnt be an issue even if its the cheaper varient of the 3090 series.. (Not counting FE.)

 

If you can justify the pricing.. or rather if you really can find this card for below 2000$ and think its worth it.. Sure go for it man.

At that smaller 2.7 slot design i expect it to be a bit louder, but honestly if you can find it at a decent price i would have gone for it myself too

 

edit: 2000$ is what its in norway at the moment, its not in stock ofcourse but thats the base price up here in the north of the world.

for 1440p go with the 6900xt, 4k go with 3080ti, both dlss and ampere design itself is better for 4k

My MSI Gaming X Trio has the same temps on the vram as the 3080 ti version. I think some 3090s have issues but not all 3090s do.

 

The issue with both is that they use the same or more watts than an overclocked 2080 ti with about the same cooling.

I just got in an EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 ti and at stock it uses 400 watts.  Getting it to run at the temps I like will be a challenge.
