Buying new laptop

G4LAXY

Budget (including currency): $1500 - $2000 (US)

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Any suggestions? I would like a laptop that is good for gaming, but most of them look like frickin rocket ships. Any suggestions for a nice sleek design?

If you're talking about the laptops being bulky, then yes... gaming laptops are bulkier than regular laptops.

Why? HEAT.

Gaming laptops produce much more heat than regular laptops, so they need the space and the vents for that air to get out. If air doesn't get out well, the laptop could overheat severely, causing major shutdowns, file loss, BSODs, etc.
