x570 board makes audio interface crackle

This sucks! I got a new pc together and I have an outboard sound interface to use for my microphone and as a DAC for my headphones. I like to occasionally record some music too.

The problem is, when i use the interface, its crackly! i have a ryzen 7 5800x and a ASUS TUF X570-PLUS GAMING AM4 Motherboard. Any help is much welcome how to mitigate.

Make sure you have the proper drivers installed for you dac and that you are using the sample rate supported by the application you are using and your dac. Sample rate can be adjusted under Sound control panel.

I tried that, it crackles on each one i try. besides, i have it overclocked to 4.6ghz all core, thought it could handle the high fidelity

Does it crackle on your motherboard green output? with an x570 board, it should also have hi-res capabilities. Also trying different usbs for you dac if you haven't already.

I had audio crackling and popping and it always was caused by voltages.

  • SoC voltage too high or too low.
  • Vddg too high or too low.
  • Vddp too high or too low.

Is it a focusrite? I had crackling with one of those and it was the power outlet my computer was plugged into lol. but I would check what Leven suggested.
