3D/8D/ASMR audio doesn't work for me. :(

Hello, am hear to ask for some advice on sorting a problem i have with sound, mainly sounds in the front and back. I know surround is all fake and i use stereo headphones, but friends had no issues to what i am having. I made my friends try out 3D tests and 8D music (1 friend has the exact same PC setup and headphones) and they are amazed on hearing sound going around them while am sitting here like....wut?!... something is wrong with me.

What i hear is sound going over my head with a smooth flow or sometimes through the middle of my brain quickly going louder in the center like a pusle from 1 side to the other (for sound going around in front)

While sound behind is slightly behind but little lower and quieter.

It's like i hear a thin half circle shape going around my head or a tilted oval.

I have tried everything, reinstalled drivers, different softwares, using Amp/Dac (I got the Fiio 10k, tried the Sound Blaster X3 and the senn GSX 1000 both refunded) and all the 5 headsets i have ( I use Senn PC37X mainly, i tried Hyperx cloud's stereo and 7.1, Logitec G533 stereo and 7.1, akg k702 and even Sony 3D pulse headphones on PC) they all do the same.

Am starting to think it's my ears, or that am really sensitive to sound that fake surround doesn't work on me 😞 but i remember having Pantronics 760 yeaaars ago (best headphones i had) in 7.1 and was fine, even the Ps5 with my 3D pulse headphones... is fine.. i can hear front and behind clearly.

I first thought this could be a wins10 issue but i had the same issue with win7 with my old PC. Or mabey a sound card could fix all this but this MB should be doable, as i said my friend has same setup and has no issues. I got decent headphones or mabey they are not suited for me... i dunno.

Unless someone can give me some info / fix with this kinda case, that be helpfull. Am really stressed trying to figure out why.

PC specs:

AMD CPU 9 5900X

AMD GPU 6900 XT

MB Crosshair Hero VIII

RAM 64Gb

right click your speaker icon (lower right). click speaker set up. youll see all the options...some are free or have to download from windows store, one is paid (i think atmos for headphones)

That's basically how it should sound but...

It depends on your ears. how easu it is for your brain to be fooled and i take headphones quality out of equasion as you said

Has this friend tried to listen to music at your place? Maybe that's really how it shold be

Also for true surround you need at lest 4 speakers around you in diamond shape

Futureproof your builds and try not to fry anything

3D audio and virtual surround sound software are all based on measurements of the human head and how it interprets audio from different points in space. Because these are based on an average of many heads, it could very well be that you're at the far end on of one spectrum or another.

I figured this could been the main problem that am just on the unlucky end.

Can I ask why?
8D Austio or any of those other fads just mess with the mixing (panning mostly) whart was completed by the engineer on the project.

Your output device will greatly impact your perception of the audio so it's likely the headphones you're using but to be completely honest, you can do it yourself to any song by sticking it into Reaper and automating Sennheiser AMBIO to spin around.

As i said i know it's all a fad, but my problem can effect games i play, like siege or apex even with stereo while friends have no problems while i'm always complaining i couldn't hear someone behind or in front correctly.

I already said i tried different headphones and do the exact same problem as well as ones friends have which they have no problems with.

Even if i do this song into reaper.. i will still not hear it spin around due to as one said, i may be those unlucky ones with a different spectrum of hearing and the illusion of 3D doesn't work on me.
