need help with prioritizing parts (i think this is the right subforum)

if this is in the wrong subforum then pls move it

so i just bought a laptop off of facebook marketplace, from what i can tell now, i need to add more ram and add an ssd for boot. it came with an athlon silver 3050u, 4gb ram, and a 500gb hard drive. do i upgrade the ram or hard drive first? and do i get 8gb ram or 16gb ram?

SSD for boot drive is a must and will show a performance improvement, regardless of what you are using the computer for.

 

As for RAM, it really depends on what you use the computer for. With that said, given the CPU, you're unlikely to be doing anything which will see any benefit beyond 8GB of RAM.
