2 Different NVidia GPUs in one PC (not sli) doing 2 different things?

MrConcrete04

Hello world,

could I run 2 different nvidia gpus in one rig, say assign one to game and day to day task and use the other one as just extra video out possibly video encoding or rendering? I'd use a 1650 as my main card and a 1050Ti as the secondary, so I think the bandwidth limitations wouldnt even be an issue. I have the second card laying around so why not try to put it to good use? Would the system know which gpu to send the video signal automatically?

Thank You very much,

Have a good one

e.

Watch out for things like:

1. Does your motherboard support 2x16 pci-e connections for cards to work in full power

2. Does your CPU support those connections

3. If you are using win 10

4. Can your PSU deliver power needed

Other than that I don't see an issue, just a pain to set up in my experience

Futureproof your builds and try not to fry anything
