Hi geeks,

Just curious if anyone here has built or is likely to build a PC with 2 PSUs installed. I imagine you'd have to have a tonne of power hungry components to warrant such a build. It'd be interesting to see such a setup with two PSUs in a case that can accommodate them.

Yup, a lot of Quad-SLI builds have two PSUs. Or top-of-the-notch mining rigs. Hell, I think Linus' case can fit two PSUs, although he uses only one.

I think Asus Ares had two 1000W PSUs somewhere in 2009-2010 (model CG6155).

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

I've seen a lot of mining rigs with 2 PSUs, but they aren't in your standard case

This is about the only reason I can think of.

As others have mentioned, with the PSU watts you can buy nowadays (1500W+ from what I've seen lately) the second is redundant.

Even a Quad-SLI build will take (usually - depending) under 1000W.

1000w is not really enough for 4way sli
