Yes, it should work, though you may very well lose some performance with such an old CPU.

The shop keeper might be reffering to the mther board for a core 2 due would be a PCIe gen 1 or 2 where the GT 1030 might be a PCIe Gen 3. A newer card should work in an old slot just lose some bandwidth the 1030 might not see any performance decrease if it's not maxing out the PCIe lanes.

Hi, I have optiplex 760 I think Mid tower. I want to buy gt 1030 low profile will this card work on optiplex 760 I am so confused I contact shopkeeper he said that this card will not work on optiplex 760 because optiplex 760 is very old and can't handle gt 1030 and cannot give full performance. But I want to buy gt 1030 please help me. Thanks in Advance

Make sure it is the GDDR5 variant. Its not the best peformance stock but if you overclock the ram on the GDDR5 variant it really does come to life. It is pascal based, modern and will run cool even when overclocked as its TDP is only 30 watts. The gt1030 gddr5 is really an underrated graphics cards in the age of the ryzen g series.
