Mixing RAM

Scitesh

so  here's the background i bought 2x16gb -3000mhz Corsair vengeance pro when i initially made my system : the other relevant specs are 3000 mhz at 14-15-15-17

and right now the same speed is not available , should i go ahead with a 3200mhz kit or a 3600mhz kit instead

or should i match speeds with a 2x8gb kit instead

CPU :ryzen 7 3700x motherboard :msi b550 tomahawk

i say get the 3600mhz ram kit if it doesn't cost too much more than the others (which it usually doesn't).

Mixing kits can cause strange issues, but can also work flawlessly, total toss up... I generally don't recommend mixing kits because the potential headaches.

yes it is, but it's still recommended to sell your current kit and replace it with a 64gb kit of ram

here's a video LTT made about ram mixing 6 months ago
