Will western digital make ssd's

Would be nice to see them come in at a very affordable price-point while sacrificing the crazy performance of something like a Intel 730 Series SSD.

My Current Build: 

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

I wouldn't mind them making SSDs but there are so many companies already making SSDs  (Corsair, Samsung, Crucial, Fujitsu, Intel, Kingston and Sandisk). If WD made PCI SSD's that would be cool. 

WD should stay focus on the HDD's though.

theres already a large market for ssds theres no point in joining into the sdd business and they already play a big roll in hard drives

I think at some point the will convert to SSD's, and I will be a big supporter when they do :) WD for life <3

but yes sooner or later WD will have to jump into the SSD bandwagon

 

since it will be a competitive necessity

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

They're good, but Seagate has released a 6TB hard drive that doesn't use helium. WD hasn't got that yet They were reported to be releasing 5TB+ drives late last year, but it never happened.
