Recommendation on Wipe Object [3D printing]

For Science!

Hi all,

I am looking for some ideas/recommendations on 3D printed objects that serve as good wipe objects.

Ideally the object would have the following properties:

1. Either scalable in Z, or have a decent height

2. Not so big in X and Y

3. Be "generally useful", of course what that is is nuanced

4. Is useful to have in multiple numbers

Currently my best candidate is something like the misumi aluminium profile: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:280318

But I am also open to other ideas, things like pen holders are also good candidates.

Wipe? How?

Like a windscreenwiper?
(Not trying to be funny, honest confusion 🙂)

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

For more context, this is relevant to the multi-material printing system for Prusa printers, to guarantee a clean transition of colors/material, material must be purged into what is known as a wipe tower that is in essence wasted material. You can re-direct this wipe tower towards a wipe object, but it should have the characterisitcs of what I mention above.

Oh you mean like a purge block? Why not just use the default? Otherwise I guess I’d just print benchies of varying size lol.

The default wipe tower (purge block) goes straight to trash. Benchies take up too much space if scaled to the heights of the model, and really only the hull has substantial material in it.
