Replacement for GTX 590

My office PC is made up of my old parts that I no longer need, and had shoved in GTX 590 that I no longer use and care about.

 

The problem is that it is an EXTREMELY hot and noisy card, especially in a non-performance grade case. Just think of regular office PC.

 

I would like to get some recommendation on replacement for the GTX 590.

 

Top requirement is cool & quiet while maintaining similar or exceeding performance to GTX 590. Cost wise, cheaper the better but I am not budget restricted.

 

I do have GTX Titan lying around, but I am not comfortable shoving in this card in a case that is bound to self-destruct some day. LoL

Maybe a 780, that would be pretty much on-par since the Titan is just a little worse than the 590. The 780 would be about the same as the Titan. You could even get the new 6GB 780 from EVGA.

I would buy a reference (blower cooler) GTX 780.

 

Using GPU Boost 2.0 you could set it to allow it to run quite hot with a lowish fan speed and keep the boost clock to a minimum, this would result in a quiet and still powerful card.

A 760 or 770 should stay cool enough and be within the performance levels of the old 590.

Well, according to @TheCroaker's graph, it seems the 690 is obviously smoking everything else in PCMark Vantage.

On my main PC, I have 2X 780ti, so if price gets anywhere close to it, I might as well get a new 780ti and put one of the worse 780ti into the office PC.

How about a 7970, or a GTX770? That should be very good for some light gaming.
