So I had this idea earlier its a bit odd and no I am not actually thinking about doing this but I would like to know if it would be possible. So my idea is To use apple TVs as servers and here me out on this, I think that if you could install Linux on an apple TV (witch it looks like you can) You could use the fairly powerful chip so for the newest 4k one that's the A12 Bionic 64 bit. And they are cheap-ish so in theory you could buy a crap load of them and rack mount it in some kind of custom case. Then boom you have a Apple TV server. Now what you could use this for who knows but If you can get them to process workloads together then you have a really cool and pretty fast server. Now I am not saying that this should be an LTT video but It is cool (this is not the point of this post so that's why its in servers).

You could on the very first Gen1 Apple TV, but that's long gone, current ones are basically iPhones and there's no custom OS for that.

Yah I researched it a bit more and I see that now. Too bad it would have been a cool thing to do.

The first gens could run any OS as it had a Pentium M, Nvidia 7300go graphics and 256MB RAM.

Linux, OS X Tiger, technically even Windows, lol. Fun times.
