While folding, while playing BF4... It never reaches 100% GPU usage, always 80-97%. It varies a lot too. Driver issue or what?

Using 14.3, had this issue for as long as I can remember.

I have the same, problem I wouldn't worry about it man, I'm sure its doing as much as the card can do.

I find my GPU only reaches 100% usage while using synthetic benchmarks. Tasks like folding or playing games have constant changes so they usually don't hold your GPU at 100%. It's the same situation with my GTX 760.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

I have the same problem and my cpu shouldn't be a bottleneck, fx 8320 @ 4.4ghz. I understand that not all games can utilize the gpu to the max but it annoys me when my fps dips below 60 and the usage is at like 50%... i've tried many drivers and it's still the same

GPU loads below 99% always means that you have a cpu bottleneck. Having cpu bottlenecks with 8320's doesnt surprise me. Although you kinda could have stuff like 93/99% in SLI/CF because the 2nd card would obviously have less shaders (eg 6970&6950) or a lower clockspeed, the first card runs at a lower usage to sync itself with the 2nd.

yeah but an 8320 isn't that bad of a cpu.. I don't understand how it can bottleneck it even after being oc'ed a decent amount

It's not a bad cpu at all, games aren't even using half of its potential at best.

You couldn't really have a stable 120 fps in BF3 at ultra settings regardless of how many 780ti's you have in your system, every cpu incl 3930K's bottleneck there that's why I play that game on low settings on my system (3930+2 780's) to maintain 120fps better. BF4 does better but you still don't have a stable 120 fps in operation locker where everyone is just going nuts with explosives.

I've been plagued so many times with cpu bottlenecks, don't know a single massive multiplayer game where I could have 2 high-end gpu's at 99%, the only thing you could do is raising your overclock or upgrading.

No it doesn't. If it does, then I guess my "Athlon II X2 4450e" is bottlenecking my GeForce 7025 when I play a PS1 emulator...

It's normal. Sometimes the GPU isn't being pushed as hard as it can be, because it only really seems to do that in synthetic benchmarks (at least for me).

What do you think pushes the GPU? GPU's will always jump without any excuses to 99% aslong as the cpu can keep up. Your cpu is 4 times slower than a C2D from 2008, it doesnt surprise me you get everywhere a 100% cpu load and see your gpu under 99% all the time. Even if your cpu would push your gpu to its limit, there's no magic going to happen.

Emulators are a complete different thing and a PS1 games could be rendered by modern cpu's we have today instead of using the gpu.

GPU's won't always jump to 100%. If you see my Radeon X1650 pro in GTA 3, it only hits 50% usage most of the time at 800x600, and the CPU has about the same utilizatoin. You don't know what you're talking about, clearly. Just stop.

Let me show you a post from someone else who claims the same as I do and someone who provided the same misinformation as you did: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1469176-4K-Screen-VS-World-of-Warcraft?p=25754384&viewfull=1#post25754384

Now you're wrong.

Sure... I don't really give a rats ass. If a Titan Z is always at 100% in GTA 3, it must be a really demanding game. Don't bother replying, since I won't read it.

actually wow is a perfect example. its single threaded. even a gtx 650 Ti is limited by the cpu(30-60% gpu usage) oc the cpu,up goes the fps

well if you read what i said up, its also about the res. at low res,ANY game becomes a cpu game. the gpu doesn`t do much because the its hold back by the cpu. literally any game. thats why its dump to get a...gtx 770 for 720p. 50% gpu usage. the only way to rise the gpu usage in that scenario is to upgrade cpu or OC(but you don`t gain much)

why do you think anandtech benchmarks cpus gaming performance al low res ? just for fun ?1024x768 or 1680x1050 http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/288

Not willing to learn, telling me I dont know what I'm talking about and now that your insult reflected towards you; you're acting immature.

This is when we're hitting the FPScap in BF3 which is 200, I'd have 99/99% if there wasnt an fps cap of 200: http://i.imgur.com/fac417o.png

And a few secs later we're watching at the whole map with a massive cpu overhead and noticing the gpu loads dropped from 80/80% to 30/30%: http://i.imgur.com/uTuX6QV.png -> Do you want me here to add a 700MHz OC and show you the difference?

You don't have that much more to say other than admiting you were wrong though.

its not the cpus fault becuase i have a stock 8320 and my gpu usage on crysis3 is 99%

O god..
