WD Green M.2 SSD for gaming?

BlindMonkEy

I'd get a WD Green 240GB M.2 SATA3 SSD, which would only be used to store and play games. I need an SSD, since I mostly play open world games and want faster loading times, but apparently the green types are worse than others. Can that difference in performance be significant in game loading times?

colors dont matter...cost matters and transfer rates. Buy the color you like checking the transfer rates. You may be suprised from what you will see...better transfer rates...more money!!!!!

Then get one. Anything that isnt horribly performing goes for just storing games, because theyre not exactly writing a mass load of data every day.

Euhm. Wd green means to slowest drive WITHOUT any cache it's a pretty bad ssd. It's not a colour of the drive but the speed class it's in.

If you can op get the wd blue but if not an option the green will still be better than a hdd.

The main difference is the greens use slower memory and don't have a dram cache which sucks but it will still be faster than a hdd.
