Antec 900 Refurbish-ish-ish

Overheal

No description available.

Ah, my first self-built PC Case: The Antec Nine Hundred. How the years have flown. And now Disc and Card drives are obsolete. And now I have a big gap where that stuff used to be. (Side panel not shown, but nothing wrong with it)

I am making a 2nd working PC from my old unit, because it's seen 10 years of heavy use I replaced all of the stock fans and used noctua equivalents (the top fan is ziptied in, and cutting was involved...but it works). Yes, I realize I forgot to put the rubber feet on the waterloop fans. I also topped the loop off with CPAP water injected via syringe at the port (took a minute). The back of the case was damaged a long time ago, one of the video outs never lined up right, etc. so I just dremeled those useless twisted bits off. What I'd like to know from people is suggestions on what to put in the empty rackspace - I've thought about 3D printing a third unit, but I don't have any black filament (it's all Glow in the dark white), and I'd have to approximate it anyway, I haven't seen a CAD online of it already (and Antec claimed it doesn't have the drawings on file anymore when I called... K) I have seen CAD someone did of the main body ( https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/676306588914d57ceb17a316bcc2959a/Antec-900?hl=en). It's not a loose part you can find at ebay anymore either, these OEM drive caddies.

Another option, I started thinking about fan controllers and panels, but what all is actually useful, if I'm just throwing money at a hole in my PC case. I don't know, I wondered if people had some experiences they'd like to share with great/worthless front panel gizmos? Or other brilliant ideas for what should go into the front of this case. I ruled out just throwing it away a long time ago, it's still far too practical. TY

If you have unused USB header on your motherboard, you can get front panel USB ports such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-Internal-Reader-Support-Computer/dp/B07ZHCN2CX which allows you to expand your USB ports.

If not, there are a few accessories you can install, such as this drawer: https://www.amazon.com/IOCrest-Storage-Drawer-Desktop-Computer/dp/B01LY3YDLN

Or, if your motherboard has an empty USB-C header: https://www.amazon.com/Hima-5-25-inch-Computer-Expansion-Microphone/dp/B07SQ17YD7
