I had 4. None of them did over 5.0 on PBO. People report the worst samples do over 5.0 with PBO.

Just upping the auto OC limits should get you over 5ghz single core without touching any others settings as long as your temps are good.

What do you mean by that?

What do I need to change exactly?

PBO limits only? What values should I set? 400-300-300?

Leave limits on auto for now and change Max cpu boost clock override to +100 as a start.

Start HWinfo64 and just do some easy work/games/cb r15 single core and see what your max boost get up to.

If you messed with any voltages or offsets put them back to stock, unless it’s related to fclk/mclk. Go into pbo advanced in the amd overclocking section, not the Asus one up front. Go into pbo set to advanced. Go into curve optimizer set to all core -30. Hit escape to take you back to the pbo section. Set pbo to auto, that should remove any option to change ppt tdc edc scalar and all that. Save and exit. You should be boosting the full stock clock range now. To get it over that you will have to play with your power settings. But you are setting massive limits so I’m not surprised you aren’t having any luck. This isn’t Zen2.

What settings do you have?

ppt

tdc

edc

aoc

scalar

co - all/per core

f*ck you should boost 5G on optimized default with that cooling never mind touching PBO.

400 - 300 - 300 is far to high though, set it back at stock (142W PPT, 95A TDC, 140A EDC) as a start

tried running ram at <3600 with loose timings?

Looking at your post history.

We are clear we are not talking about all core 5Ghz? You don’t have the cooling for that - you need sub ambient.

As DARK HERO you have turned of the other ASUS specials beside fmax enhancer - ai tuner, dos, and whatever?

And you have looked at like https://youtu.be/dU5qLJqTSAc and https://youtu.be/1TOoYc8fJIo and part 4

and the amd section of overclock.net https://www.overclock.net/forums/amd-general.13/

These are some of the briefest answers ever. Detail for us everything you have tried so we are all on the same page. You said you bought four of them? I bet every single one would have done the full rated boost of 5250.

All core oc of 5ghz is not in your cards..

Never said I wanted all core. I managed 4.9Ghz all core just second ago but that's manual OC. With PBO, no matter what settings I cannot hit more than 4998.1Mhz

Well these things really spool up when you can get the heat away.. maybe look in that direction?

Same here. PBO cant boost my 5950x even to 4.8! Im trying to OC 5950x for MAYA workloads (single core perfomnce). With this settings: PBO - manual, PPT TDS EDC - 280 235 240, overdrive - 50mhz, curve optimizer: all cores -25, LLC - lvl1, cpu voltage - offset + 0.05v.  I get max 4.6 Ghz and 75C cpu temp (85 diode). If I set all to auto and curve optimizer to -30 as freeagent suggested, pc wouldnt even boot.

What’s the Max % that ppt, tdc and edv reach if you run cb r23 or your workload?

why are you changing llc and vcore offset?

Turns out I was cheating., all of my settings were done in the amd over clocking section in the back, except for one.. Asus performance enhancement was on.. whoops. With it off I lose a few MHz, could probably retune it a bit but for now I just leave it on.
