Do I need better AIO then H100i,3900x users

frozensun

Hi my friends.

I know Arctic Liquid Freezer is best out there and I had H100i before, and my intention was not to use it for 3900X but I installed it.

In previous threads of my there was rumor that this cooler is not good solution for 3900X and now I've become suspicious about it.

I undervolt CPU to 1.2V and put multiplier to x42 long time ago.

Idle temp is around 42 C.

Last night did some video encoding with handbrake, got around 79 C after 30 min encoding (pump fans were set to balanced mode).

So please please let me know which tests you want me to do,and report back temps...

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Well if you arent overclocking then the aio should suffice

Just dont worry about temps unless they are nearing or above 90c

And yes i hate overpriced aios but if you already have one thats perfectly fine and reusable then why buy a new one if it works fine?

You got plenty of headroom before your cpu start throttling down

Well handbrake didn''t utilize all cores to 100%.

Some were running around 90 %.

So please let me some other software to test temp with this CPU...

Prime95 is outta of there since CPU starts throtling, temp reaches 95 C.

Maybe CineBench R23,huh?

I'm testing with Cinebench R23,put to test 1 h and I will report back temps,so someone please tell me if I need better AIO.

So far after 30 min temp hit 81 C,which I don't think is high.

Now I cranked the case fans to performance mode, doing around 1400 rpm and got 2 C lower temp for CPU.

Here arre the results after 1 h ttest with R23:
Are these temps okay?

Probably.

Could lower temp a bit using fans in performance mode with H100i.
I guess I don't need then better AIO,huh?

Not really

If you want a better aio go for liquid freezer 360 or 420

But then you might have to swap case to accomodate those aios

Tbh just keep your aio till it doesnt suffice anymore or just outright dies

Nope. You can if you feel like it, but you're not going to see a big improvement.

So temp is not that high for a reason to purchase another AIO?

No it's not too high. Your AIO is fine.

I got bracket for my D-15 for AM4 socket.

Now I could install/swap H100i platinum with D-15.

Would better cooling get me higher clock speed with D-15 and 3900X?

d15 and h100i trade blows in temps iirc, so probably not.
