You might have issues if you face sudden power outage, but otherwise, no.

I read an article from Dell where they actually recommend removing the battery if you keep it constantly plugged in, so I'd expect no harm without a battery.

Hi, I have a laptop that doesn't have a battery plugged in, so in order for me to use it is to constantly have it plugged in with power brick.

Is this bad? Should I get a battery asap?

The power brick gets a tad bit toasty so I put a fan blowing air on it and that sorts of solves the problem, but should I be doing this for the long run?

And no, I don't take buy a new laptop as an answer, I'm just a teen who has no income (except for luncheon money, but covid happens so 0 income), I'm gonna use what I have now, I'm not the type of people who can just tell their parents the shit they want and immediately gets it

your fine, your power supply getting warm is also normal although theres no harm in cooling it if its worrying you. a new battery could be around $20-$30 depending on brand of laptop. But if your not willing id say its fine to run it how it is

As long as you realize that if there is sudden loss in mains power your laptop will lose power as well, which can be a disaster depending on what you’re doing on the laptop at the time.

If you can find an old UPS or share a UPS with other devices, at least you’ll have peace of mind that you have a few minutes to save your work and shut down normally should a sudden power loss occur.

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.
