Price drop of SSD, is it just in Malaysia or world wide?

Chiyawa

I'm beginning to notice price drop on SSD in general, specifically, 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Some M2 NVMe SSD do have a noticeable price drop as well. So far I can see those SSD in the range of 480GB to 512GB have significantly price drop.

Can anyone confirm? If so, then I guess that's a good news.

Well, I spotted today on Shopee. It seems there are slight price cut.

WD Black SN750 500GB M2 NVMe SSD with heat sink sell over RM500 last week (I think RM479 is probably the lowest when they are on sale). Today, they are selling RM437.

Viewnet price list (19th July 2021) also show significant price drop on some SSD (Mostly SATA SSD). For example: Kingston A400 480GB 2.5 inch SSD selling at RM239 (I remember last week when I check they are selling RM279).

You can still get some. They are selling out fast, though.

I'm not noticing it here in Europe. Usually prices only go down on sale dates like Black Friday, etc. In here the 500GB SATA and m.2 drives have higher prices than a few months ago. I'm actually looking for a m.2 500GB to add, but right now everything is full price and I'm waiting for actual price drops. They haven't dropped in a few months now or just barely.

I see.

The price I observed is still pretty high but had a little drop just this week, so I'm curious if this is the case for world wide. Thanks for the info.
