I PREFER HAVING IT VIRTUALIZED. I DO NOT ENJOY REINSTALLING MY OPERATING SYSTEMS EVEN THOUGH THANKS TO WINDOWS 10 THAT HAS BEEN A FREQUENT DOING. I HAVE A SEPARATE MACHINE I RUN LINUX MINT DEDICATEDLY ON.

Right now my PC is running Windows 10 on a 1TB NVMe and Arch on a 512GB SATA SSD. I also have a second 512GB SATA SSD that was running macOS however something happened and it stopped booting, I never got around to fixing it so the drive is sat in my computer unplugged.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Same here.

MX Host.

Guests: W7, W10, OpenSuse, Puppy.

My favorite combination is MX host- Puppy Guest, which I believe is the most 'hack resistant'.

Also a shared partition is used as a temporary data backup (before they are to be copied offline).

I gave up the Dual/Triple boot ages ago.  I can't stand having to reboot to run the other OS.

I either run two separate machines, or run a virtualized instance.

When I finally convert my TrueNAS Core server to TrueNAS Scale, I'll probably build a Windows 10 instance there, and pass-thru Intel QuickSync.  Or maybe even buy a Quadro P2200 to handle HW transcoding.

Home PC: Apple M1 Mini, 16gb, 1TB, 10Gig-E.  Adobe CC and Ripping things + Daily stuff.

Gaming PC: Ryzen 7 5800x, 32GB, Nvidia RTX 3080Ti stuffed into a Corsair 380T.

Asgard the FreeNAS Plex Server: AMD EPYC 7443p 24 Core, SuperMicro H12SSL-CT Mobo, 256GB DDR4 3200mhz, Norco 4224 Rack Mount. 100TB+ TrueNAS Core.

Toys:

2017 Focus RS | Frozen White | Daily Driver

1989 Pontiac TransAm | GM Triple White | Heads/Cammed LT1 + T56 swap | Suspension goodies up the wazoo. | HPDE Weekend Warrior toy.

I used to dual boot my systems, but not so much anymore. My main MacBook Pro has macOS Mojave and macOS Big Sur (yes, there's plenty of room despite only having a 128GB SSD), but my desktop has two separate drives for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Same with my current temporary NAS/gaming rig. It has Server 2019 on one drive and Windows 10 on another. Apart from those systems everything else is left to virtualization.

Phobos: AMD Ryzen 7 2700, 16GB 3000MHz DDR4, ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 1030, 1TB Samsung SSD 980, 450W Corsair CXM, Corsair Carbide 175R, Windows 10 Pro

Polaris: Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASRock X79 Extreme6, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 1TB Crucial MX500, 750W Corsair RM750, Antec SX635, Windows 10 Pro

Pluto: Intel Core i7-2600, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASUS P8Z68-V, 4GB XFX AMD Radeon RX 570, 8GB ASUS AMD Radeon RX 570, 1TB Samsung 860 EVO, 3TB Seagate BarraCuda, 750W EVGA BQ, Fractal Design Focus G, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

York (NAS): Intel Core i5-2400, 16GB 1600MHz DDR3, HP Compaq OEM, 240GB Kingston V300 (boot), 3x2TB Seagate BarraCuda, 320W HP PSU, HP Compaq 6200 Pro, TrueNAS CORE (12.0)
