What you wish from windows 11

SandalsWarrior

This is my personal wishlist of what I expect from windows 11 or future windows builds. Let's make a thread and see what the most requested features would be from the improved OS.

 - No bloatware

 - Windows store :

  • make it the go to place for getting apps
  • app settings are stored on your microsoft account, not fragmented throughout your pc
  • uninstalling an app completely removes every trace of that app from your pc, including registry entries

 - have option to disable phone/tablet mode for desktop users

 - Device Manager, Services, Msconfig and other settings utilities:

  • modern UI ( UI still looks like its from windows xp )
  • improved UX
  • make device manager the one stop for all app updates ( so you don't have to download Nvidia drivers, intel drivers etc )

 - Better default apps

  • More apps should go the route of Edge : better notepad (something like sublime text), windows media player , paint

 - Stop messing with the sound settings when entering a game

Really wanna gather some good OS ideas, so we can have, at least on paper, the perfect version of windows

They will keep updating it. I like tuning my windows quite a lot when installing a new version, so I'd like some ideas at least for myself

-no Candy Crush and matching games included with the install

-no Your Phone because it's useless

-improved Windows Store

-No Windows 10S, which many people thought you had to buy windows 10 home, and didn't know you could switch out of S mode

-I was also hoping for better compatibility with older software but looks like none of that. Although Android apps is a step in that direction.

Nailed it with candy crush and your phone. I would like to see a poll of people who actually use those apps.

all they had to do was do what people wanted

no forced install

no forced updating

no bing

no cortana

no ads in the UI

works with any hardware

lets you change anything from one control panel

but i already have that OS , so that doesnt make them money

I want them to keep the damned control panel, they've been burying it in win10 and most of the time that I want to change a setting I'm just searching for the control panel.
