Would You Trade Cards?

If someone offered to do an even trade with their EVGA 3070 TI FTW3 Ultra for your EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra because they believe they would get better crypto mining. His is brand new and only used for a few days and my card was purchased November 2020. Would you make the trade?

I mean, sure? But why? Wouldn't the 3070ti get better mining perf than the non-ti?

I have a feeling no one would want to trade with my card unless you have like a gt 710...

I work with the person.

 

He said it doesn't perform as well with ethereum which is what he's mining. He said his card came with the bios that makes mining not as good on the card as previous cards. He's not mining as a job, just for fun.

Well it depends on if you wanna risk it all for some 5-8% uplift, cause if i remember correctly that's the difference between the 3070 and the 3070Ti.

3070ti has mining nerf, so no, it's not better than vanilla 3070 in this regard

I figure the 5-8% would be free performance increase if it's an even trade so long as everything is good with the card.

Well that's what i meant. Don't take everything on pure trust, test the card first and check if it has warranty. Idk how good you know this guy and for how long, but you won't be the first poor soul scammed by a co-worker.

Sure, if you don't want to mine, then yeah, you get like 10% more perf, he gets double the mining profits, it's a win win.

I'd actually recommend you start mining instead, while sleeping and at work. It'll pay off some of the price of the GPU. A 3070 averages well over $100 USD profit a month right now, that's why they want to trade.

Traded cards yesterday and have been putting it to the test. Right away, the TI card got better benchmarks stock versus my previous card that was overclocked. I have all weekend to test the card to make sure I want to keep it. So far, no complaints.
