Thanks for the reply 🙂

Just an update on this, it also failed the fix all long.

So will destory the drive.

Hi,

I have a 4TB Seagate 2.5" hard drive, they I took out the external case about 2 years ago and put it somewhere safe.

I have now gone to use the drive and just ran some tests, using the Seagate SeaTools for Windows and it fails the Short DST (Drive Self Test) at 10%.

I have also installed Crystal Disk Info to check the smart, it appears to be all good, image attached.

Is the drive failing?

I am currently running fix all long on the drive using Seagate seatools, to see if it will do anything.

If Seatool test repeatedly fails then it probably is dead.

I use HD Sentinel to monitor my hdds, maybe the free version will tell you something

I'm willing to swim against the current.
