Using ONLY One connection of a split cable

Basicly my psu has 2x6+2 pci-e cable and 2xsplit 6+2 (so 16 connections) is it safe to plug a split cable with ONLY One of the connections so having 2 individual ones plus one of the split ones to satisfy a 3x6+2 graphics card. Sorry for my English thanks!
