Upgrade from a 1060 6GB Strix for 2.5K gaming (2560x1440) and expecially 3D rendering

Using euros? Europe is a big place, where you are on the map is going to hugely affect your possible options

but in the current market, there's nothing new from AMD you can buy with the money you have (including selling the 1060 6GB). I hope you do know about the mining craze and all the following price surges (more like price tsunamis tbh). That's at the same time when AMD is having more trouble meeting demands than Nvidia who is also in a trouble when it comes to supply.

Even in the used market I doubt you'll find cards remotely close to what you're expecting. There might be RX 580 4GBs you can afford but it's no faster than a 1060 6GB. This is like say, 100 euros more than if you sold your card for MacOS compatibility.

The GPU prices are so bad that replacing your 9400F with something that has a working iGPU (so you go hackintosh without a graphics card) is not complete nonsense. That's how broken the market is.

Hello there everyone! I recently bought a 2560x1440 monitor, and gaming on this has become a Powerpoint presentation since the very low FPS.

Even if it's a 75hz and I'd like to upgrade my GPU to actually reach 75FPS, that's not the main reason why I'd like to upgrade my GPU

I'm a 3D artist and an Hackintosher, so I need an AMD card which can help me on 3D rendering since, last time, I made a 1 minute animation in 3 days 24/24, and I'd like to upgrade from High Sierra to a newer macOS version, since many programs are losing support. I was thinking about an AMD VEGA 56, VEGA 64 or a 5700 XT but my budget is very low, I prefer not going trough 300€, and since I'll need to sell my 1060, I prefer being sure on my investment. What should I do?

My CPU is an i5 9400F, 16GB RAM, MSI B365M Pro-VH, Corsair TX650M.

Your power supply would support these, but...

In today's market you can't get an upgrade from the GTX 1060 for that kind of money. Best you can get is a sidegrade, an RX 580 8GB. (Last I checked prices this was about the price for this tier of performance)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Got it, I'll wait until prices will become more normal and stable, meanwhile I'll continue looking for some luck 😉

Yeah I know, that's why I'm now gonna wait

Do you guys think that Vega 56 is better than vega 64 and 5700xt for what I need to do?
