I remember Linus saying that he'd rather get the 780 than 780Ti, since 780 is already awesome and it's like 200usd cheaper than the 780Ti.

I've seen many benchmarks and reviews of these 3 and I can say that the usual pattern is 770 being considerably better than 760 but not for "that much" while the 780 is a big difference above 770.

Basically, I want to play most games at 55-60 fps minimum. My main games are mostly Bf4, Arma 3 and DayZ. I also want it to be able to play near future games around this framerate.

780

1080p: Current gen games = 760, including lets say next years games (not inc super super demanding games) gtx 770. For 100% games max settings 60 fps min then gtx 780 (unless the game is horribly optimized or something).

I could get a 760 now for my build budget and get 780 equivalent of 800 series next year.

That sounds like a good idea, you'll still be able to sell the 760 next year and claw some of that cash back. The 880 ti equivalent won't be released when Maxwell 20 nm chips are released as the ti's are released when the generation has matured anyways.
