Mining on a virtual machine?

Hey what if I take an m1 mac or an windows laptop an have 50 virtual machines and mine cryto in every machine?

Will It work and can I earn lot of money?

This answer is somewhat oversimplified, but if you run 50 virtual machines on your PC then each of these machines will have about 1/50 of your machine's performance. In reality it will be even less due to overhead. So the amount of money you can earn running these virtual machines will be less than simply running a miner on your machine directly.

 

There's also the problem that mining software needs a GPU. Each virtual machine would need its own GPU. Some GPUs support virtualization, but again you'd simply be splitting its performance between these machines. You get far more performance from a single PC with multiple GPUs. Running virtual machines adds additional overhead that would reduce your profits, not increase them.

Because virtualizing does not magically grant your computer more processing power. Virtualizing is done for security and convenience reasons. In the end you would still have a M1 Mac with barely enough processing power to mine cryptos and let alone being profitable.

For the same reason you can't multiply the performance of a piece of hardware by plugging in a second monitor, as you erroneously claimed in one of your previous threads. 

 

Seriously, at this point you're either trolling or you should really pick up a book about how computers work on a very fundamental level and stop assuming you've figured out this brilliant get-rich-quick scheme that for some reason nobody has thought of before.
