3x 8-pin PCIe power sockets on Red Devil 6900Xt - To use 3 individual cables or not

Go to solution Solved by mariushm,

You'll be fine with just two cables.

So this hefty ch0nk of a card has three 8-pin sockets on it, and I currently have a total of TWO PCIe power cables connected to it. Both of them splits into 2x 8-pins, one cable connects with two 8-pins split, and the other one only using one connector.

Do I have to use 3x individual cables or is it fine to leave it with the current setup? Because I know normally for cards with two 8-pin sockets, you use two individual cables, so in this case I'm wondering if I should use three individual cables as well.

PSU is is Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 850w. Not planning on overclocking 'cause I only game on 1440p, but maybe in the future.

That's the same way I connected my 3090 before I returned it and it was just fine, I'm sure you'll be too.

Edit: I returned it cause I didn't find the real world performance gain worth the pricetag, settled for a 6900xt instead, which I cable up the same way and runs fine too.
