GTX 760 Superclock + 200 for my XFX 7970 Thoughts

Some one wants to trade me a GTX 760 + 200 for my XFX 7970 any one think this is a good deal. With the 200 i can buy a second 760 for SLI.  Not a big fan of SLI but it would be faster in the end.  Also my 7970 has a bad coil wine problem its killing me because the rest of my system is near silent.

Seems like an okay deal, but I would ask for like 300$ extra and make sure his card works.

Don't SLI the scaling is crap, one more powerful card is always better that two less powerful ones.

I'd ask for $300 plus the card. And then turn around and sell the 760 for 150-200 bucks. Then buy a 780

1. Go for it. 2. Sell the 760 for 200- 250$. 3. Get either a 780 ( http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/msi-video-card-n780tf3gd5oc) or a R9 290 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9290aedbd) OR get a 770 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n770tf2gd5oc) or an r9 280x (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9280xtdfd) and have 100- 150$ profit without losing any performance.

Considering you can get a 7970 for $200 on Ebay take the $200 cash and the GTX 760.

If I got it right, he has the XFX 7970 / R9 280X and he wants a GTX 760 and $200. The R9 280x is like $375. The 760 is $300. The XFX has also got coil whine.

Two very demanding games and you get improvement with SLI and this is with older drivers so who knows how things are now.

SLI scaling is fine, especially two way.  I see almost 80-90% improvement on every game I play

SLI scaling on my 660s is pretty decent, to say nothing of everything else. 

 

SLI is not some useless pit of inefficiency anymore. It can work well, and give meaningful improvements especially if you start cranking up things like AA.

IDK Still on the edge about this.  I am trading down to a lower card.  Also i don't like the GTX 760 dual 6pin placement lol.
