Looking for a good pair of headphones

BenneMus

Hey audiophiles and others :D I am currently using the Shure SRH 440, and they are a great pair of headphones, but the earcups are a bit too small and sometimes squish my ear and that sucks.

I am looking for some big cups, comfy, cloth/velur over leather imho. and also memory foam is kinda a must :D

If you suggest some higher impedance headphones please also suggest a dac or what ever else I need to get it running. I am very new to audio but I trust in the internet! :D

srh840 pads?

That'd add comfort and be extremely cheap.

They're not the same though, they get recommended on the audio-subforum all the time to be purchased with the srh440, because of the increased comfort and a small change in the sound(I've heard better bass)

though they do look exactly alike in amazon.

Also, do you think the 1440 or 940 ones would fit on the 440? Because they look really comfy!

Denmark

Does the price look ok? Knowing Swedish didn't help me in finding a Danish price comparison site, but they did have ok prices and shipping rates to Finland.

And no I unfortunately do not know if they fit. But the 840 pads are a perfect fit.

All the pans are swappable, so if you wanted to go all put the 1540 pads are re best, though they may not be available to European markets yet.

Thomann seems to sell the 1840 pads? Are those interchangeable?

And because it's a bigger number it also must better...

So, Alcantera is actually a company with "unique and proprietary" technology that makes the suede-like product. Their website is weird: http://www.alcantara.com/#/en/home

You can find their product on Sennheiser Momentum on-ear headphones. Pretty much every reviewer I've seen has commented on their softness and comfort.
