Is it only me...

Lubuntu made my 11 year old laptop with a 5400rpm HDD perfectly usable again, so I'm definitely a fan of Ubuntu. I'm going to upgrade to an SSD soon just to see how much better it's going to perform.

As a relative newcomer to Linux, I also find Ubuntu superior to other distros because it has a wealth of information online so I can actually troubleshoot every problem despite knowing very little.

It goes without saying that Win10 Pro remains my main OS and the one I run on my main gaming and work computer. Everything just works on Windows.

Have you tried Fedora or PopOS? Those are pretty well documents as well.

I don't like the PopOS interface. Fedora isn't Ubuntu-based, and I need the OS to be Ubuntu-based because I need Parsec to work flawlessly (Parsec doesn't officially support non-Ubuntu linuxes). I might try Fedora some day tho.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

16 GB HyperX DDR4 @3000MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.

With Ubuntu based you mean Debian based? PoP would work with what you are looking for. And you can pull Ubuntu repos into Fedora on the same hand that can get messy really fast.

Ubuntu is Debian based, but the Ubuntu based operating systems have commonalities with each other that they don't necesarily share with other Debian based distros. As an example, if you're running Peppermint OS you can follow some guide written for Ubuntu and basically expect it to work, but that's not the case if you're running MX Linux.

I let people have opinions but my opinion is Ubuntu is one of my fav Linux distros because that's what I'm used with and that is user friendly and up to date for me

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help
