switching between wifi adapters?

(dont grill me for using wifi i cant run a ethernet port to my room)

my TP link PCIe wifi adapter is great but sometimes it randomly drops connection so i plugged in a secondary usb wifi adapter and was wondering if there is any way to configure it so if my PCIe adapter drops it switches to my USB one, and back to the PCIe one when it gets its connection back

Why don’t you just use the usb attached one?

Try going to speedtest.net on both and seeing if there is a difference.

Also a bit of a longshot, but try installing the drivers for the adapter from the tp link website and see if it fixes it.

There used to be a way to failover to a secondary card, but I think this was a feature of the Server OS line.

Because USB adapters 8 times out of 10 are horrible solutions. They overheat and drop connections.

My advice would be to look to see if they have a new drivers available. Most of the time that can fix an issue like you describe. Keep in mind that besides Ethernet, Power line adapters and Moca adapters are a real option. Might be worth looking in to.

i installed drivers idk if it has worked yet, we'll find out
