Is i5 2500(not k) enough for 1080p?

So I have a pc with i5 2500 and r9 380, but I am using a 1280x1024 monitor and have around 40-60 fps in GTA 5  Far Cry 5, COD MW 2 Remastared, etc. And if I upgrade my resolution my fps should be lower right?

Generally yes. As for CPU, non K series non overclocked CPUs of first 4 generations are starting to show their age in games but they still arent bad.

If you go with 1440x900 instead of full HD, you might not lose so many frames.
