A level computer desk/case

Ztricker

This is my A level DT project which i have made this year.

For some of the folder work i needed to test and evaluate it and I thought it would be a good idea to put it up onto here and see what you guys would think of it as potential customers.

I made it in mind to have my rig put into it however due to the fact that it is half mine and half my dads he said no :( which meant i had to use some bad parts i found from friends and school so sorry for the bad hardware but the idea is still there.

If you could leave comments on what you like about it and what you don't like i would really appreciate it, and maybe how much you might consider paying for it. Any criticism would help me but don't be too mean she is my baby.

These are without working parts so again sorry:

I have a few more pictures if you want to see them.

Please comment as it would really help me with my course work.

It needs a h440 style shroud to cover the power supply and the cables- so please do add it - it would make the rig look so much nicer (Don't forget to allow for the psu to breath in the shroud so don't cover the fan) Otherwise it's amazing but heck i've seen it in person :P

If the desk could be longer (platform holding monitors) to support 3x 4K monitors in portrait (6480x3840) then I'd get one.

This is possibly the first desk case I have seen that actually makes sense AND looks good. Thick tops drive me nuts personally and this solves that problem but you still see the computer, very nice job sir.

As for selling it... I don't think the market is really there, I know of a few companies that sell desk cases, but I've never actually seen someone who bought one. Probably due to the high cost, if you could sell it for $300 shipped it would have a chance, but the typical $600+ is just too much for most people.

Hiding the plywood edges would really help the aesthetics, but would be a PITA for the curved sections. You could probably steam bend the hardwood strip after routing it, but it will probably take a bit of persuasion with a rubber mallet to get it in and might warp over time and pop right out regardless of glue.
