I'm looking to get a 65 inch 4K TV for my bedroom to replace my old Samsung UN65HU9000 because it's showing its age and also the speakers are blown. I'd really like to keep this to $1000 or lower. HDMI 2.1 not necessary because I'm just gunna hook up my old PS4 Pro and an Nvidia Shield TV to it. I've done some research and have been leaning towards a VIZIO M658-G1 and it says they have them at a near by Sams Club but I've heard they're hard to come by and if I can't find one there then I'd like to know your guy's suggestion on what to get.

I heard the new samsung 2021 models are going to be cheaper and offer more than their previous lineup.

Don't know about the cost difference. Also If you want to go OLED (likely not due to cost) or Mini LED if that might do well for TV (might not be the best either).

While most of those will have a lot of cool features, but becoming an either/or situation.

At least something that might be an offer from the Mini LED side, is HDR and easier support for higher HZ 4K?

Also think most newer ones you would need external sound, like a sound bar or something else.

I see now, the mini LED might have a lot longer to go. Some Mini LED monitors might be better as in the scale to zone ratio. But can be more noticable with smaller zones if not perfect compared to a whole image brightned.

Mini LED isn't even an option at this budget, so kind of pointless to suggest it.

Do you know how much a mini led cost? lol.

TCL tvs are getting good, you should see it for yourself.

Under the hood is the same LG panel.

Not sure in USD, but have seen that is closer to 1000, although I guess some are maybe some 100 bucks more.

Sorry for not knowing US pricing, or availability 😕

For a 4K 65 inch HDR the price is around $700-1000.

TCL is in the lower end, but they are the best bang for the buck.

Huh? Mini LED TV's start at $800 for 55-inches, so they're well within the price range. 😕

Ikrrr, Mini LED TV's dropped to under $1,000 pretty quick. 😄

Surprisingly so also considering how new of a development the technology is.

Not so sure about Mini LED yet, but from what I saw in HDR for monitor with a lot of dimming zones was quite good.

But that is HDR and a specific type of content. Also if its better to wait for better zone managment or how many zones one would need per size for the best image quality. like shown above were "regular" QLED or OLED works the charm in other areas.
