Can my GPU and CPU handle 120hz Monitors?

Doghen
So i want to buy a new Monitor (at least 120hz)
Right now i have a 75hz monitor and it runs fine.. but what about 120hz?
But my question is can my CPU and GPU handle it?
(Intel core i5-9400F, GTX 1060 6GB)
Any help/advice would be welcome! 🙂

It depends on the resolution and even more so on what games you run, but generally a GTX 1060 is a bit less than you'd want for a high refresh rate monitor.

I'm sticking to 1080P resolution, what do you think?

Well, it's not awful card. My 3GB 1060 is quite playable in a game like Death Stranding - 70+ fps and the game is demanding.

It can handle most games with better fps..

But I do have much better CPU..

I edit my posts more often than not

I'm running any AAA game (COD: Cold war, BF1, BF5..) fine with Medium/High settings on a 75Hz monitor.. with G-sync enabled

I hope it will also work flawless and good with a 120Hz monitor, or should i stick with the 75Hz one?

Yea, but what processor does he have? because the processor plays a role also in high FPS right?

R5 2600, which is pretty comparable to the 9400f.
