so,

i have a youtube account and a google(+) account, and this is how the situation evolved for me

  1. on youtube i used my youtube account
  2. youtube asked me if i wanted to switch to the google+ account, and i said no
  3. on youtube i kept using my youtube account, but my google+ account was there available to switch in any moment
  4. youtube asked me which account i wanted to use every single time i opened youtube, every single time i chose the youtube account
  5. now, everytime i open youtube i'm logged in with my google account and i have to switch back to the youtube account

did y'all experience the same bloody thing?

Yep. The same thing happens to me.

*somewhat strong language ahead*

I don't understand Google's point in shoving Plus up everyone's asses. I wish they could fuck off once in a while. My Google Plus account and my YouTube account are connected to the same email, but when the Plus side is signed into YouTube, my subscriptions are different. Did they ever think of that? We don't need Google Plus shoved up ours. We can go without it and be happier. Come on Google, you're better than this.

Tying your Google account to Youtube doesn't force you to fill out your Google+ profile. They're still different services - just sharing the same login info.

I was one of the first few to get invited to use Google+ and I haven't updated my profile since then. All you're doing by tying Google+ to Youtube is creating a blank profile - you don't even have to fill in your real name (usually, that's taken from the Google account first/last name).

I assume they do this until you get suckered into clicking on G+

when the Plus side is signed into YouTube, my subscriptions are different.

inb4 they will bring our youtube subscriptions in our G+ accounts, we won't notice it, and we will start being G+ users without even knowing it

Yeah, mine defaults to my Real G+ account, seemingly randomly or gives me a "Hey which one you want to use".

There is a large thread here about it on the google products forum, but its suppodely fixed/fix incoming.

It just seems sort of silly that they would even care to push G+ like this when they could be putting that effort into more actual improvements for the platform. Google's utilities and services are starting to feel kind of tired to me, they could use a little more love.

Yeah, it only does it on my phone though. Youtube on a browser has been mostly pleasant for me.

They seem to have even ironed out that nifty rapid account switching since I have two Gmail accounts tied to two Youtube accounts. In both it's really simple to switch profiles and I don't think either have bothered me about G+

legacy accounts sure are nice.
