Advice for CPU, Memory, and Mobo for a 1080p build.

I already have a 600w bronze EVGA power supply, a SSD, and a nice case with decent air cooling. I am NOT going to play AAA games like Cyberpunk, COD, or GTA. I might play some somewhat graphically demanding games, but probably not often as demanding as the games previously listed.

CPU:

What is a good AMD CPU paired with a GTX 1650, RTX 3050, or RTX 3060? I don't care too much which one as long as it can hit 60FPS 1080p at ultra settings.

Mobo:
Is the B450 a good mobo for price? I don't need any fancy features or built in WiFi chip. Or should I go with a smaller mobo like a micro atx for the best price?

RAM:

What is the best company and what is the best speed for 16gb DDR4 RAM around $100? Or I could even just buy 8gb that is faster speeds if that is enough...?

R5 3600 is good fit for that (my 2600x with RX480 pulls between 40-60fps at 1440p Ultra  max everything in cinematic games so it isn't a bottleneck)

B450 is solid (I like ASRock)

G.Skill  ripjaws V 3200 is the way to go for Ryzen. super compatible.....

Thanks for the advice!! Do you think I could pull off something like the Ryzen 2600x because I am only doing 1080p max settings? Or should I spend the extra money for a 3600?

1: Ryzen 5 3600

2: No such thing as a RTX 3050(only rumors), B450, B550, or X570 are great choices for a R5 3600

3: I enjoy Corsair for RAM, mostly because of lighting and iCUE. You will defiantly need 16GB RAM to play most games and run tasks such as chrome or discord while playing. You should get at least 3200Mhz RAM for Ryzen 3rd gen.

dont get the 2600x, its just a 1600 AF overclocked. Get the 1600 AF, 2600, or 3600. the 1600AF and the 2600 are pretty much the same chip. Adding the X or XT just mean factory "overclocked" chips.

You're going to lean more towards a CPU bottleneck at 1080p, especially if you eventually pair it with a 30 series card. I would not cheap out on the CPU. Ironically, you'd be better able to go with a lower CPU if you targeted 1440p.

Bit nitpicky, and I know you quoted "overclocked", but they're not overclocked. They're binned, so they boost higher than the non X or XT versions.

I've been noticing in Fallout 76 that my 2600x actually feels smoother at 1440p than 1080p. the frame rate is lower, but the frame times feel more consistent.

Because the lower the resolution and better the GPU, the more frames the CPU has to handle putting more stress on it.

Is there a big difference between different companies that manufacture mobos? I know there is "pro" versions and "max" versions, but in terms of the exact same mobo, does it matter which company I buy from?

I'm currently using a b450 pro4 from ASRock and I love it, it really depends on exactly what you are going to be using it for (OC, expansion, chipset features, fan headers, and USB ports)

B450 is more of a chipset than a "standard" motherboard, but depending on the model and size you could get good vrm, plenty of fans connectors, many usb connections, even rgb headers, you just need to look at what your needs are and search the motherboard that ticks all boxes

amd's kinda bad value right now except the 5900x and 5950x, best budget cpu right now is the 11400f, the 3600 is both more expensive and slower.

If the choice between a 3600 for 200 and 5600x for 300, then the 3600 makes sense.

true, I would just hate to see them get the 2600/2600x and could have just saved money by getting the 1600 AF, and overclocked it for even similar results.

Without stating your budget, it's a little tough to give recommendations.

The 11400 is indeed a great value processor right now. However, I do find that intel boards tend to cost more than the amd counterparts, so there's that.

As far as choosing a mobo, I usually pick mine based on user reviews, the input/output panel [does it have what I need], and then the size I want [ATX vs micro atx vs ITX]

There are some titles the 1650 super could handle at 1080p ultra, and others it likely wouldn't do so well.

My favorite source for comparing hardware in real world results is youtube [ie.. 1650 super vs 1660 ti]. There are a lot of channels posting reviews of cpus, gpus, etc. They usually run the hardware through all kinds of tests, including game benchmarking at different resolutions and productivity benchmarks.
