UK Game Devs gets £180mln boost (Tax Relief) !!!

The European Commission has given final approval of measures to introduce games tax relief policies in the UK, bringing an end to a lobbying campaign that has lasted more than half a decade.
 
Games trade body Tiga estimates that the policy will provide an additional £188 million investment for Britain's games development sector over the next five years. Games studios can begin claiming for tax breaks from April 1, Tiga added.

Good (wo)man. Just change the font color to something neutral like medium grey and it will work :)

Anyway this news its huuuuge for me, I am currently studying game development at Uni in UK. This tax relief going to be pretty damn sweet :)

It's only available if the game meets certain criteria. It has to have at least a certain amount of it based in the UK and has to promote British culture. It's good for game developers, but the conditions to get the relief are pretty steep.

Meh, based in the UK makes sense as it's about the vitalising the UK games industry, not the 'Mostly US but with one UK office' industry. Also, it's about damn time we see Britain represented more in games.
