Doing my first build, advice on if specs are good?

Firestoem

Budget (including currency):  $1k-$1.5k USD

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Streaming, 3D Animation and possibly video editing

Other details;

I've listed the specs below, I've purchased everything already except for the processor and motherboard but I'm willing to return anything I need to if it's strongly recommended to go with something else! I just want to double check that this is good as I've never built a computer before. I'm currently upgrading from a computer with 16GB ram, Intel i5-6600k CPU and a GTX 1660 GPU. I plan on putting my 1660 in the new rig and getting a 3060 whenever they become available at MSRP.

Welcome to the form!

I have two advices :

1- For an os you can get one from ebay for like 15$

2-For the GPU don't go with 3060 go for at least 3060ti cuz its better than 2080s unlike the 3060 comes between 2060 and 2060s and not much of difference in price

note : for the ram go with 3600mhz cl16 same price

That's it.

If you are putting more of an emphasis on 3D modeling and editing, then the 3700x is fine. If you prefer gaming performance, the the 5600x would be better for you. It’ll still do rendering and editing fine despite 2 less cores.

That cooler might have been decent once but gets beat by cheaper ones now, like the Vetroo V5, Gammax 400 (and other variants of the same cooler), and the SE-224-XT

That board is fine but the Asus TUF B550 is a very comparable (if not downright better) board for $10 cheaper. Plus Aura is a lot easier to use than RGB Fusion, if you care about that.

For the RAM, that kit is good but Ryzen likes faster speeds. Any kit that is 32gb, 3600mhz, and CL16 works and is preferable. TridentZ, Ripjaws, and Ballistix are all usually good kits.

Pilot-E 1tb has better value, around $30 cheaper.

love the case, PSU is fine AFAIK.

3700x performs pretty similar to a 3600 \ 10600k on gaming, so I suggesting switching for less cores and more power!

the new i5 11400f is a really good option, perhaps 5600x if budget allows.

mobo choice is good, you can go for much cheaper if you don't overclock. I suppose you don't because you took a pretty cheap cpu cooler.

B550M-Pro4 \ B550M-DS3H two viable options for 5600x.

11400f pretty much any solid mobo will fit nicely.

perhaps a little better cooler to keep the pc quiet. modern cpus are toasty.

Neither of the boards you listed have BIOS flashback or are guaranteed to come with an updated BIOS. List something with flashback, if anything.
